Apple:

Apple has long been rumored to have been working on a pair of advanced AR smart glasses, and their CEO Tim Cook recently responded to a question about the company’s plans for the Metaverse during an earnings call, stating, “We see a lot of potential in this space and are investing accordingly,” which saw their stock price rise 5% in after-hours trading.

Nike/Adidas:

Nike had filed several trademarks in November 2021 with the intent of selling virtual sneakers and apparel, and a little over a month later, they acquired digital sneaker startup and high-quality NFT pioneer RTFKT Studios. Meanwhile, around the same time, their main competitor, Adidas, partnered with notable NFT projects like Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), PUNKS Comic, and influencer gmoney to launch their first NFT collection, “Into the Metaverse”, which gives holders access to exclusive merchandise.
